The overall goal of the project is forming institutional and informational base and introduction of joint action during emergency situations for identification and prevention of dangerous widespread infections in Carpathian region through establishment of the strong co-operation between professional institutions in the field of biological epidemiology situations in the border regions of Hungary, Slovakia,


Romania and Ukraine, modernization of the laboratory in Ukraine and Romania, raising awareness of local population and increasing the skills of professional institutions and its staff. In 2018 emergency situations was announced in a number of regions of Ukraine as a result of positive tests of swine fever infections, it makes great dangerous situation in border regions. The following expected achievements of the project which will change current situation in such way: as a result of project activities local communities and professional institutions that work domestic and wild animals and work with traditional products from meat and milk, will take the tools and instruments to ensure security from the dangerous infections and can prevent it at local level at the initial stage. Conscious population in border regions regarding the actions in case of dangerous infections. The expected results of projects are the following:
- Well-equipped Laboratories in UA and RO with skilled staff which provide express methods of tests
- Developed BioSecurity web-based instructions and promotional materials for local communities which provides the guidelines for the actions connected with current situation in case of dangerous viruses during emergency situation
- Skilled professional staff and informed in communities as well as main stakeholders (farmers, hunting organizations, etc.) in border regions receive guidelines / instructions integrated to the common BioSecurity system. Innovative approach is the established cooperation between communities and laboratories.
