19 September 2023 - Final conference of the "Discovering and Preservation of Jewish Cultural Heritage on Cross Border Area" project

The final conference of the project "Discovering and Preservation of Jewish Cultural Heritage on Cross Border area" (JCulture) was held on July 18, 2023 in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Project teams from Ivano-Frankivsk and Sigetu Marmatia presented to the attendees the results of the project implementation in Ukraine and Romania, summed up the bilateral cooperation and expressed gratitude to everyone who was involved in project implementation.

The main results of the project in Ivano-Frankivsk are the repair of the synagogue drainage, installation of lighting, 10 memorial boards and the creation of a "Jewish" tourist route. In Sigetu Marmatia project activities were aimed at restoration and expansion of the Eli Wiesel Memorial House - Muzeul Maramureşan exhibition in Maramureš. In addition, as part of the project, it managed to draw attention to the importance of learning the history and preserving the common cultural heritage of both cities.
