12 December 2022 - Organ blessing celebration within the "Religious cultural heritage and tourism development in Nyíregyháza and Berehovo" project

Organ blessing celebration was held in the Our Lady of the Hungarians Co-Cathedral, in Nyíregyháza on December 11, 2022, the third Sunday of Advent.

Another important milestone has been reached in frame of the HUSKROUA ENI CBC project "Religious cultural heritage and tourism development in Nyíregyháza and Berehovo" (RECREATE). Among others, a lookout tower was built in one of the towers, the stairs leading to it were renovated and a communal space was created with the EU support. The expansion of the organ was also achieved, with a touch screen, a register switch and a moving playing table. A special feature is that a smaller instrument was purchased in addition to the already existing large organ. The instrument was played for the first time in the Advent period, followed by a concert in the Roman Catholic Church. The project intends to face dual challenge of cultural heritage preservation and improvement of touristic activities in cross-border area.
